Queen visits Romford

H.M. Queen Elizabeth II visited the London Borough of Havering for the first time in her 51 years as Queen. She stopped first at the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch, then a visit to Romford town centre, followed by a trip to a school in Harold Wood to meet the schoolboy who had requested her visit. Golden Jubilee a Success

The year 2002 was a success for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee as millions celebrated 50 years of her reign. Despite two personal losses for Her Majesty with the deaths of her mother and her sister, it appears that she enjoyed the historic milestone.

One of the highlights was a concert held in the grounds of Buckingham Palace in the summer.

Princess Diana Diana, Princess of Wales

Diana, Princess of Wales died on Sunday, 31 August 1997 following a car crash in Paris. There was widespread public mourning at the death of this popular figure, culminating with her funeral at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, 6 September 1997. Even after her death, however, the Princess's work lives on in the form of commemorative charities and projects set up to help those in need.
