Below is a sample of some photos from my trip to Israel in October 2001.

The famous view of the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, where Jews go to pray. This is on the western side of the Temple Mount, where the Temple of God used to stand. Now you can see the golden Dome of the Rock, a muslim mosque.

The Damascus Gate on the north side of the Old City of Jerusalem, a very busy area with lots of buying and selling.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, we can see olive trees dating back to the time of Christ, about 2,000 years old.

The Pool of Siloam, where Christ told a blind man to wash his eyes, and the blind man had his sight restored. We dipped our feet in the cold water.

Inside our hotel, the Knights’ Palace, this is the courtyard where we could sit outside. To the right is the dining hall, behind the photographer is the bar lounge, and at the far end is the meeting room.

The Arab staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food was good. The bar lounge was comfortable and relaxing.

The building was originally a monastery, about 500 years old, converted in more recent years into a hotel.
